An article - published in the Journal für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen im östlichen Europa 2 (2021) Volume title: Raumkonstruktionen. Digital Humanities und die 'Messbarkeit' des NS-Regimes / Spatial Constructions. The Digital Humanities and the 'Measurability' of the Nazi Regime; ed. by Richard Němec) - can be downloaded from De Gruyter's website here. I co-authored this article with Frederike Buda and Christiane Weber. The book Industrielle Arbeitswelt und Nationalsozialismus: Der Betrieb als Laboratorium der "Volksgemeinschaft", 1920-1960, which includes a chapter by me on "Strength through Joys"'s sports in companies, has been reviewed on H-Soz-Kult, see here.
Together with Prof. Andreas Birk, I was awarded funds by the Jacobs Foundation to support our project "Digital Contingencies: Prospects and Limitations of Technology in Digital Humanities." (The project is part of the initiative B3- Bildung Beyond Boundaries - see here for more info.)
A report on our workshop "Zeugnisse des Nationalsozialismus, digtial: Projekte, Methoden, Theorien", hosted by Frederike Buda and me in Dec. 2019 at Jacobs University (building on the ongoing project "Valentin 3D") has been published on H-Soz-Kult, see here.
We currently prepare a book based on the workshop's discussions and contributions. Together with Frederike Buda and building on the BMBF-funded research project "Valentin 3-D", I will host a workshop at Jacobs University on December 13, 2019, entitled: "Zeugnisse des Nationalsozialismus, digital - Projekte, Methoden, Theorien."
For a detailed description, see the CFP on H-Soz-Kult. In 2019, I was awarded (for a second time) the Teacher of the Year Award at Jacobs University (for the Focus area "Diversity".)
Together with some colleagues from Jacobs University, I was given the opportunity to visit Qingdao, China and teach a course at China University of Petroleum during a one-week-summer program. My class was called "Modern European History through Primary Sources." I also give two lectures, on the "Rise of Fascism" and "The Holocaust: Historical Research and Remembrance.” Overall a very interesting and enriching experience!
(See also report (in German) on JUB's website here.) Resonanz, a journal published at Bremen University, published an article by Dr. Ulrike Huhn and me on our excursion to the Ukraine in 2016 and the related teaching and research project. You can find the whole article (in German) here: https://blogs.uni-bremen.de/resonanz/2018/04/20/bremen_mykolajiw/
During this year's opening ceremony, I was awarded Jacobs University's Teacher of the Year Award for the focus area diversity. You can read more about it here.
